Four bomb threats were made against four different schools in the Alexandria area today, forcing evacuations and leading police on aggressive on campus searches for explosive devices. The threats were against Bolton, Pineville and Alexandria Senior High and Brame Middle School. No explosive devices were found, and law enforcement is conducting an aggressive investigation.

Alexandria Police are reporting multiple phone threats made to several local schools including Bolton High and Brame Middle School today. Alexandria Senior High was evacuated earlier today and searched, while across the Red River, Pineville Police reported a threat made against Pineville High. An agressive investigation is under way.

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people accused of burglarizing an evacuated home in Bell Rose near the sinkhole. The owner of the home told deputies several items were taken including air conditioners and lawn benches. 40-year-old Billy Rodrigue and 34-year-old Nicole Gros, both of Pierre Part, were booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.

A hearing date has been set in Governor Bobby Jindal’s federal lawsuit against the Obama administration over Common Core. In the suit, Jindal accuses the US Department of Education of illegally using federal money to convince states to adopt the controversial education standards. US District Judge Shelly Dick will consider the governor’s claims on November 20th.

The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that a 40-year-old Pineville man is dead after a confrontation with officers from the Pineville Police Department. RPSO Lt. Tommy Carnline says when Pineville Police responded to a 9-1-1 call Monday morning, they were confronted by a subject brandishing a large sword. Carnline says the subject then charged toward one of the officers…

Dock prices for shrimp are rapidly dropping and shrimpers aren’t happy about it so they’ve decided to hang up their nets this week. Disease had been killing many Asian farm-raised shrimp which raised the prices for American shrimpers, but that problem is going away so the price is dropping according to processors. Dardenne plans to run for the state’s chief executive spot next year. He says the next Governor needs to listen and make decisions for the right reasons…:

Erin Brockovich is sending her chief environmental investigator to St. John Parish today to conduct a Town Hall meeting about Safe Drinking Water, chlorine Burnouts and the deadly amoeba situation in the parish water supply. She says on her Facebook page the meeting with Bob Bowcock will be before the Parish Council. According to her website, Brockovich is currently involved in water issues across the country.
