Back to honors, in the Southland Conference Aaron Sam picked up defensive player of the week with his 98 yard interception return for TD in the Cowboy’s narrow 31-24 loss to Nebraska. SLU’s Ryan Adams got Southland special teams player of the week.

Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne, who is planning on running for governor in 2015, lays out what he thinks should be the priorities of Bobby Jindal’s successor. Dardenne says there would be a much more transparent administration than what we’ve seen in that office since 2008…:

Dardenne said he felt the privatization of LSU hospitals was a good idea, but he felt the implementation needed work. He also didn’t dismiss the idea of Medicaid expansion but said it was something that should be looked at and considered.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reported William Hayden, a star on the reality television series “Sons of Guns,” has been arrested there on charges of aggravated rape and indecent behavior with a juvenile. This makes four alleged victims and three different charges of aggravated rape and one charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile. The 49-year-old faces two aggravated rape charges in East Baton Rouge Parish and an aggravated rape and an indecent behavior with a juvenile charge in Livingston Parish.

Louisiana shrimpers are tying up their boats this week — angry about the low prices they’re getting at the dock. A spokesman with the American Shrimp Processors Association says prices are falling because imports are rebounding and they aren’t the ones to blame. Gulf Seafood Institute President Harlon Pearce says this is a communication breakdown…:

Tommy Carnline says Pineville Police received a 9-1-1 call Monday morning claiming a subject had threatened another person with a weapon and officers responded to the scene…

He says a blood sample from Cole was collected for toxicology analysis…

The Saints are spending today trying to recover from Sunday’s hard fought overtime loss to Atlanta. New Orleans’ defense is taking a good portion of the blame as they gave up 568 yards in total offense to the Falcons. Saints linebacker Curtis Lofton says they can’t let this loss linger….

State Police Trooper Greg Marchand says the single vehicle wreck occurred early yesterday morning on Highway 433 and 31-year-old John Cole, who was not working at the time, was at the wheel…

His passenger was identified as Daniel Hanlon, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Pineville man who was allegedly threatening another person with a sword has been shot dead by Pineville Police. When officers arrived at the scene just after 10 am this morning, they ordered 40 year-old Christopher Shane LeBlanc to drop his weapon, and when he charged one of the officers, a shot was fired in defense. LeBlanc was pronounced dead at the scene. That investigation continues.

William Haden, the “Sons of Guns” reality show star, is now facing an additional charge on top of molestation of a juvenile and Aggrevated Crimes against nature. Today, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office added a charge of forceable rape against Hayden. The alleged rape took place 22 years ago when the victim was just twelve years old.

An additional charge of forcible rape has been filed against “Sons of Guns” star Will Hayden. The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office says a victim has come forward alleging Hayden raped her more than 20 years ago when she was just 12-years-old. Hayden was arrested last month accused in the rape of another 12-year-old girl.
