Political analyst Clancy Dubos says you can bet Landrieu will bring up the recent allegations that Cassidy, who is a doctor, was paid by the LSU Health Sciences Center for work he never did..

Political bloggers first reported that some of Cassidy’s time sheets from LSU did not add up to the hours he actually worked. Dubos says this issue will likely come up in tonight’s debate, but it might be too little too late for Landrieu’s re-election chances

In published reports, Cassidy denies the accusations that he received payments for work he didn’t do. As far as the debate goes, Dubos expects Cassidy will continue to connect Landrieu’s voting record with President Obama’s policies

The State Police Cadet Class #93 has started training to earn the privilege of wearing the “gold boot” badge of the Louisiana State Police. The cadets will go through 20 weeks of training. Trooper Jared Sandifer says about 70 new cadets reported to the Training Academy yesterday…

He’s hopeful this class will produce 50 new troopers. This is the second State Police cadet class to be held since September 2008. Sandifer says the graduates from this class will help bolster trooper numbers statewide…

State Police graduated Cadet Class #92 in May and added 46 troopers to the roster. Sandifer says this new cadet class will go through 20 weeks of intense training…

Staying fit or maintaining your current weight is difficult for some during the holiday season. State department of health and hospital’s Well-Ahead Director, Melissa Martin, says staying hydrated is one way to make sure you don’t eat too much during one sitting

Friday, Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu is calling on Republican Congressman Bill Cassidy to turn over pay records for his work with the LSU Health System. She says there are some -quote -serious allegations being made against Cassidy for alleged fraud and double dipping in his pay, and she wants him to bring the documentation to the televised debate Monday night.

A Church Point woman and her two children that had been missing since Tuesday have been found found safe. Church Point Police said Tabatha Citizen and her two children , went walking Tuesday with her 4-year-old child and her 7-month-old baby, and family members were concerned when the mom and her kids did not return.

The Saints are trying to win the NFC South. They’ll be at Pittsburgh on Sunday. Running back Khiry Robinson has been ruled out, so that’s now six straight games he’s missed, because of a forearm injury. But veteran wide receiver Robert Meachem is expected to play after missing the last three games with an ankle injury.

The high school football playoffs resume tonight with some great match-ups. In Class Five-A…top seeded Byrd is at ninth seeded West Monroe. The number one seed in Two-A is also on the road as Many visits St. James. The LHSAA Game of the Week will feature the number one seed in Division One, John Curtis, facing fifth seeded Brother Martin.

In college football tomorrow…Southeastern Louisiana will face Sam Houston State in the first round of the F-C-S playoffs. The Lions beat the Bearkats in the quarterfinals last year. Southern and Grambling meet in the Bayou Classic on Saturday. The winner is the SWAC Western Division Champion and Louisiana Tech can win a Conference USA West crown with a win over Rice tomorrow afternoon.

In the NBA tonight…the Pelicans are in Atlanta to take on the Hawks. Anthony Davis is averaging 24 points a game, while the Hawks top scorer Jeff Teague, who is averaging 18 a contest. Tip-off from Phillips Arena is at 6:30.
