One of those receivers, Ajalen Holley was named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week. He had 175 receiving yards in the Warhawks win over Idaho on Saturday.

Louisiana Tech’s Kenneth Dixon has been named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the week. Dixon had 184 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the Bulldogs big win over U-L Lafayette.

And McNeese State’s Aaron Sam was named the Southland Defensive Player of the week. The senior had a 98-yard interception return for a touchdown against Nebraska.

When the Saints return to practice tomorrow, they’ll look to correct the mistakes that led to last Sunday’s overtime loss in Atlanta. New Orleans’ defense allowed 568 total yards to the Falcons, the second most in Black and Gold history. Coach Sean Payton says the problems were evident when watching the film…

No changes at the top of the latest Louisiana Sports Writers Association high school football polls. Acadiana is number one in Five-A, Warren Easton is ranked number one in four-A, John Curtis is ranked number one in three-A, Calvary Baptist has the top spot in Two-A, and Mangham is ranked number one in One-a.
