An internal review finds that Department of Children and Family Services staff members did not violate criminal laws in the case of a 15-year-old Baton Rouge boy found in poor living conditions and weighing only 47 pounds. The report contains seven different recommendations and DCFS Secretary Suzy Sonnier says they’ve already implemented one and that involves medical professionals in cases where the child is unable to verbally communicate…

Family members and lawmakers criticized the agency of not doing enough for the special needs child.

Governor Bobby Jindal is asking the Inspector General to get involved in an investigation into allegations that Planned Parenthood is selling body parts from aborted fetuses. I-G Stephen Street’s office received a request from the governor to look into whether Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast is involved in the illegal harvesting and trafficking of human body parts. Planned Parenthood says the allegations are outrageous and a flat out lie.

The President of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association has concerns that the Iran nuclear deal will negatively impact oil producers by allowing Iran to export crude oil into an already flooded market. Don Briggs says, if additional oil from Iran continues to suppress crude oil prices, it could have devastating effects on Louisiana…

The Steve Gleason Act, which would make speech generating devices more accessible to people who battle A-L-S, is heading to President Obama’s desk for his signature.
