The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s office says three people are under arrest in connection with the case of an accused murder suspect who escaped from the women’s prison in Avoyelles on July 11th. The Lake Charles City Council voted down a measure requesting the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury remove the South’s Defenders Monument at the Calcasieu Courthouse. The Council voted down Councilwoman Mary Morris’ resolution on a 4-2 vote. Morris says she understands history and her measure was not looking to get rid of the monument…

Opponents of the measure say removing the monument will take away their heritage.

A group of pro-life Louisiana lawmakers, including West Monroe Representative Frank Hoffman, announce plans to craft “Abortion Pill Reversal” legislation for the 2016 session. Hoffman says many people don’t even know that if they go through the abortion pill process there is a reversal pill that exists…
