The NFL releases its schedule tonight. It comes down at 7 PM. We already know the teams the Saints will play, but we get dates and times tonight. According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Saints have the fifth-easiest strength of schedule.

Nola-dot-com’s Jeff Duncan reports New Orleans will open the preseason schedule by visiting the Cardinals and then play the 49ers in San Francisco. There will also be joint practices against the defending NFC Champs before that game against San Fran. Remember the Saints will hold training camp at the University of California-Irvine.

ESPN has announced LSU’s season opener against the USC Trojans in Las Vegas will kick off at 6:30 PM on Sunday September first.

Angel Reese makes her debut in the WNBA tonight as the Chicago Sky face the Dallas Wings in Big “D.” In two preseason games, the Bayou Barbie averaged 13 points and seven rebounds a contest. Tonight’s game will not be televised.

Louisiana Tech baseball star Ethan Bates has been named a two-way player of the year semifinalist. The Arkansas native has 16 home runs and has driven in 67 runs. He’s also the team’s closer and has 14 saves. The Bulldogs close out the regular season with a three-game series starting tomorrow at Liberty.

South Alabama slugged Southeastern Louisiana 13 to 1 last night. The Jaguars will begin a series against the 21st-ranked Ragin Cajuns tomorrow night. U-L Lafayette needs one win to claim an outright Sun Belt Conference regular season title.

Southern Miss defeated Ole Miss seven to four. LSU begins a regular season series against the Rebels on Thursday at Alex Box Stadium. The Tigers need to sweep to get to 13 SEC wins, which is the number likely needed for LSU to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

One other college baseball score. Chase Keeton’s two-run-double in the tenth inning gave McNeese a seven-to-six win over Texas State.
