A shooting in St. Tammany Parish leaves one person dead and four others injured.  Police say the shooting occurred at a home, but police are withholding the exact address pending an investigation.

Early voting for the November 18 election begins today.  Secretary of State Tom Schedler is expecting a low turnout, around 10 percent.  There is a statewide treasurer’s race, the New Orleans mayoral race and a handful of local ballot items in about half of the state’s parishes.  Early voting continues through next Saturday.

LSU is expected to lose tonight’s game against Alabama by a large margin, being a 21 and a half point underdog. These fans believe that spread is way too big, but The Tigers would have to play perfect to beat Nick Saban’s machine-like team:

A 67-year-old grandmother is dead in Plaquemine after her grandson allegedly shot her by mistake.  Police say 19-year-old Blaise Horton reported he was holding a gun he didn’t know contained a bullet when Kathleen Fulton was killed.  Police Chief Kenny Payne says even though this appears to be accidental, the Iberville Parish D.A. will pursue charges…

A man who is accused of participating in three armed robberies within an hour last month is in custody.  Baton Rouge Police say Junior Polanco was with two others who allegedly broke into the homes, robbing the residents at gunpoint.  Polanco admitted to police of being in a stolen vehicle used in the robberies, but denies taking part in the robberies themselves.

LSU is expected to lose the game against Alabama Saturday by a large margin.  Some fans though would like to see a nice effort by the Tigers, but believe this just isn’t the year…

LSU says three people were injured today after the Paul M. Hebert Law Center caught fire. They believe the three were electrical workers hurt when the blaze was started possibly by a high voltage wire.
