LSU left-hander Gage Jump delivered a second consecutive great start as the Tigers opened their series against Auburn with a five to nothing win last night. Jump followed up a 14 strikeout performance last week with seven shutout innings and struck out six Auburn hitters. Tommy White and Hayden Travinski homered for the Tigers who are 6-and-13 in the SEC.

The Ragin Cajuns edged Southern Miss three to two as Andrew Herrmann struck out seven over eight innings. Kyle DeBarge hit a three run homer in the eighth inning for the only scoring for U-L Lafayette.

Old Dominion defeated ULM two to one in 12 innings. Louisiana Tech blanked Sam Houston two to nothing. Cole McConnell drove in both runs and Ethan Bates earned his 13th save while Reed Smith earned his fifth win.

NBA, the Pelicans try to get back into the series against Oklahoma City as the two teams meet at 2:30 at the Smoothie King Center. The Thunder lead two games to none.

During day two of the NFL draft, the Saints moved up four spots in the second round to take Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry with the 41st overall pick. McKinstry was a first-team A-P All-American for the Crimson Tide. During his three-year career at Alabama he had two interceptions and 25 passes defensed. New Orleans gave up a fifth and sixth round pick with Green Bay to move up the four spots to take McKinstry.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are all in on LSU. After selecting former LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas in the first round on Thursday, the Jaguars took ex LSU defensive tackle Maason Smith in the second round.

Also in the second round, Opelousas native and wide receiver Keon Coleman was selected by Buffalo.

There are four teams tied for first after two rounds at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. The team of Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are at 13-under par and tied for first.
