St. Charles Parish President V.J. St. Pierre says this is very exciting and Monsanto has always been a great industrial partner…

St. Pierre says the plant would create 95 direct, 450 indirect, and 1,000 construction jobs. He says the final decision to expand the plant will be in the early part of 2016.

New census figures show the nation’s population is becoming  more diverse and Millennials now outnumber babyboomers. Demographer Greg Rigamer says Louisiana is following the national trend, as the state’s Hispanic population has increased increased since 2010.

Rigamer says Louisiana and the nation’s population is more diverse because people are not afraid to leave one state for another in search of better employment.

The U.S. Census says there are now 83 million people who are considered millennials, people born between 1982 and 2000 and their size exceeds that of babyboomers. Rigamer says you can see that trend happening here in Louisiana.

A man wanted for the murder of his estranged wife in Calcasieu Parish has been added to the F-B-I’s Most Wanted fugitive list. Forty-seven-year-old Joe Matthew Constance has not been seen since he shot and killed Mary Duhon on June 5th, 2011. Calcasieu Sheriff Tony Mancuso says they hope the F-B-I’s help can bring Constance to justice…

Mancuso says now that the F-B-I is involved, they receive better tips on whether he is outside the country or in a different state. He says there is a reward for information leading to Constance’s arrest.

Mancuso says Constance forced himself into Duhon’s home and demanded the residents inside tell him where his ex-wife was, he found her in another area of the residence and shot her. He says Constance was charged with first degree murder, aggravated assault and aggravated burglary the day he killed Duhon.

The bird pooping problem at Alex Box Stadium is about to be over, as work crews are installing special netting to the bottom of the grandstands overhang that should offer protection. The construction should be complete in time for fall practice. Speaking of LSU baseball, former shortstop Alex Bregman is now a Houston Astro, agreeing to terms and a signing bonus expected to be about 6 million dollars.

Governor Bobby Jindal has signed into law what’s become known as the revenge porn bill. The legislation by Kenner Representative Julie Stokes makes it a crime to share an explicit photo of someone without their permission with the intent to cause harm. Jindal says this is blatant disregard for personal privacy and the number of people affected by this is shocking.

The Miss USA pageant which will be held in Baton Rouge on July 12th will not be airing on Univision. The network says its dropping the show because of ties with Donald Trump who recently made comments about Mexican immigrants bringing drugs, crimes and rapists to the US. Univision says it’s relationship with the Miss Universe Organization is over.

That’s a 24 spot drop from last year.

Two former LSU men’s basketball players are expected to be selected in tonight’s NBA draft. Former Tiger Jarrell Martin was considered a first-round selection when he announced in March that he was turning pro. He averaged nearly 17 points and nine rebounds a game last season. But LSU radio color analyst Ricky Blanton says Martin’s stock has been dropping, as teams are having a hard time trying to determine what position he’ll play in the NBA…

Blanton says it appears fellow former LSU Tiger Jordan Mickey’s stock is rising, because of good pre-draft workouts. Former Louisiana Tech standout Speedy Smith is projected to be selected in the second round.

LSU catcher Kade Scivicque has been named to the 2015 All College World Series team. Scivicque had six hits in Omaha and drove in three runs.

Virginia won the C-W-S last night with a four to two victory over Vanderbilt. It’s the A-C-C’s ifrst title in baseball since 1955.

Former LSU shortstop Alex Bregman has signed with the Houston Astros. His signing bonus is reportedly around 6 million dollars. The Astros have also announced the signing of left-handed pitcher former Tiger Zac Person. Bregman was the second overall pick in the MLB draft and Person was picked in the ninth round by Houston.

Governor Bobby Jindal officially hits the campaign trail today after his announcement Wednesday that he is seeking the Republican Presidential nomination. ULM Political Science Professor John Sutherlin says even though many people don’t believe Jindal has much of a chance at the White House, our Governor has a history of being a good campaigner…:

Sutherlin says if Jindal is competitive in the Iowa caucus and in the New Hampshire primary that could lead to a really good showing in South Carolina.

Governor Jindal and the President of Monsanto announce the company’s decision to start a preliminary investment in an expansion of its St. Charles Parish operation in Luling. The Monsanto board will make an official decision in early 2016 which could mean a potential investment of more than $1 billion dollars over the course of 3-5 years and result in 540 new jobs.

Fidelity Investments’ 2015 Couples Retirement Study finds a disconnect between couples on finances and retirement planning issues. Eric Gill reports…:

The St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Office says a teenager is dead after his tractor rolled off a bridge and landed on top of him. They say 17-year-old Zachary Henry of Amite was driving over a narrow wooden bridge when the tractor veered too close to the side of the bridge and broke the planks. The tractor rolled off the bridge and landed on top of Henry in a ditch. Henry was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office believes a man is dead after apparently drowning while tubing on the Bogue Chitto River. They say 32-year-old Edmond Adams, a Prairieville native living in New Orleans, was tubing with a group of friends when he lost control of his tube and disappeared under the water. Adams never resurfaced. Search crews were unable to find Adams’ body yesterday. The search continues today.

Governor Jindal is meeting with voters in New Hampshire today after kicking off his presidential campaign yesterday in Kenner. The governor says if he gets to the White House, he plans on making big changes…
