President Trump visits Monroe tomorrow in support of GOP gubernatorial challenger Eddie Rispone.  Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says Trump’s popularity is high in the state and could be a big motivating factor to get the Republican voters to the polls, especially those that supported Congressman Ralph Abraham in the primary.

Governor Edwards will also be in Monroe tomorrow morning, addressing what President Trump is expected to say during his visit.

The first college football playoff rankings for the 2019 season will be released tonight at 8 PM. Jerry Palm of cbs-sports-dot-com says even if LSU loses this Saturday in Tuscaloosa, the Tigers could still be in the four-team college football playoff, because of the schedule they’ve played…

A 23-year-old Prairieville man was arrested for allegedly impersonating a police officer and chasing another vehicle from Jefferson to St. Charles Parish, forcing the vehicle to wreck. Peyton Oubre allegedly told deputies he chased down the Charger because it was being operated recklessly. St. Charles Sheriff’s Corporal James Grimaldi says never take the law into your own hands on the road.

Grimaldi says they do not believe the incident is related to another case of reported officer impersonation that occurred in St. Charles parish in October.

A Denham Springs man is under arrest for stealing an electric shopping cart from a Walmart in Houma, allegedly to avoid getting a DWI. Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s spokesperson John DeSantis says 32-year-old Brice Kendell Williams had parked at one bar, started drinking, then decided to steal the cart and drive it to another bar.
