The FBI is investigating the horrific kidnapping and murder of a three-year-old girl from Loranger and the kidnapping of her six-year-old surviving sister. The girls were found in Mississippi Thursday afternoon. The suspect Daniel Callahan is believed to have killed their mother before taking the children. Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade:

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Enforcement is the lead agency investigating a fatal boating incident involving a Texas man in Sabine Parish. Agents recovered the body of 64-year-old John Martin Jr Monday evening from the Toledo Bend Reservoir. Martin was last seen launching his boat near Huxley, Texas on June 8th. What caused the boat to capsize remains unknown and when Martin was found he was not wearing a lift jacket.

The New Orleans Saints concluded their three day mandatory veteran minicamp yesterday and will be on break until July 24th, when their training camp begins. First year offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak says that the offense is making a lot of progress in his new scheme, but Kubiak also noted that the Saints defense is looking as tough as ever.

The Saints will travel to the Cardinals on August 10th to open up preseason play.

And what could be the final game of the NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks tips off tonight at 7:30 in Dallas. The Boston Celtics took a three game lead against the Dallas Mavericks after winning the last matchup in Dallas 106 to 99. The Celtics are now just one win away from their eighteenth NBA championship and first championship since 2008.

The search has ended for two young girls from Loranger discovered missing when their mother 35 year old Callie Brunett was found dead in their home yesterday morning. Officials believe the mother was killed Tuesday and Daniel Callighan fled with the two girls. 6 year old Jalie Brunett was found safe when authorities located Callighan in Jackson, Mississippi. The body of 3 year old Erin Brunett was found nearby. Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Captain Jimmy Travis says Callighan dated the girls mother and are hoping to learn more about motive once they question him.

Callie Brunett’s stolen car was spotted on camera in McComb, Mississippi, Thursday morning. In Jackson law enforcement were suspicious when they saw Callaghan pulling on doors in a neighborhood.

Two State Police vehicles were hit by a suspect driving what turned out to be a stolen car after a traffic stop made yesterday by Troop NOLA. Troopers say the suspect was driving erratically when he crashed then boxed in the vehicles, hitting them both before surrendering. We’re told troopers also found a gun in the vehicle.
