Boustany was hoping the President would be less combative on the issue…

The President’s plan would raise the capital gains tax on top-earning Americans and eliminate the current tax break on inheritances. Boustany says an agreement was made to set the inheritance tax at 35-percent and the President’s plan is not a good faith attempt to work on tax reform…

The President’s proposal would also raise taxes on big banks. Boustany calls the tax increases a re-distribution of wealth through increased spending. The Congressman says tax reform is needed. Boustany says he wants a tax code that is fair, simplified, and lowers rates to help grow the economy…
