It will be an emotional night in Wossman, where the Franklin Parish football team will play its first game since the death of Tyrell Cameron. Tyrell died last Friday after colliding with another player during a punt return. The game between Wossman and Franklin Parish was moved up to tonight, because visitation for Tyrell is tomorrow night.

The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office arrests an Alexandria man on human trafficking charges. Lt. Tommy Carnline says the original complaint on 55-year-old Bobby Otis Augustine was child abuse but an investigation revealed evidence of 5 counts of human trafficking and other charges:

No bond was set on the human trafficking charges, but bond on the other charges was set at $124,000.

A suspect from Breaux Bridge is in custody accused of the attempted manslaughter of a St. Martin Parish Deputy. Master Trooper Brooks David says the deputy was investigating suspicious activity and approached 22-year-old Donald Clement Jr.’s vehicle when the suspect took off with the deputy hanging on to the door. He says the Clement drove quite a ways with the deputy on his car and it’s fortunate that the deputy fell off the vehicle before the crash…:

Republican Presidential hopeful Governor Bobby Jindal slammed the leader of the GOP field, real estate guru Donald Trump. In a speech at the National Press Club, Jindal called Trump’s antics a carnival act. He says the Democrats are basically giving republicans the next election, but Trump could destroy America’s chances to be great again…:

Former 5th District Congressman Vance McAllister, also known as the Kissing Congressman, made good on his word today and signed up to go up against State Senator Mike Walsworth for the District 33 seat this fall. Both are Republicans. McAllister says he wants attention on this race because it’s important to end “the Jindal-Walsworth” administration.

Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Stephen Campbell says they are reviewing their policies when it comes to transgender individuals. The controversy arose when a transgender woman from Denham Springs attempted to get a new license at an OMV in Baton Rouge, but was turned away because she was born as a male. Campbell says there’s no guarantee the policy will be changed.

The statistical peak of the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season is today. Eric Blake, Hurricane Specialist with the National Hurricane Center, says so far this season has produced eight named storms but only two hurricanes. An 11-year-old boy who took a cab to the Mercedes Benz-Superdome and was reported missing has been found safe. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s office says his family last saw him leaving his home in Gretna on Wednesday morning. Colonel John Fortunato says a New Orleans Police officer found the child walking on Downman Road and he’ll be reunited with his family.

A Baton Rouge television reporter has told the Baton Rouge Advocate he was fired after he confronted Republican Senator David Vitter about his past involvement with prostitutes. Reporter Derek Myers says he confronted Vitter about his 2007 admission to a “very serious sin” after he qualified at the Secretary of State’s office on Tuesday. A Vitter campaign spokesman and the station’s general manager said no one from the campaign approached them about firing the reporter.

Today is the final day of qualifying to be on the ballot for the statewide elections. Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden became the fourth person to sign up for the Lt. Governor’s race. Based on the latest campaign finance reports, Holden’s campaign is not as well funded as republican opponents Billy Nungesser and John Young. Holden says funding is a concern, but he can overcome it…
