Two south Louisiana families will never be the same after five people were fatally shot, three in Livingston and two in Ascension Parish. The alleged gunman is 21-year-old Dakota Theriot. Authorities say Theriot killed his girlfriend and her father and brother and then went to his parents home in Gonzales and fatally shot them…

Attorney Charles Elliot plans to appeal an appellate court’s decision that says his client, Roy Hebron, can’t serve as mayor of the Rapides Parish town of Ball. Hebron is a convicted felon and won his election on the same day voters approved a constitutional amendment barring some felons from running or holding office. Elliot puts some of the blame on the state legislature’s wording of the amendment…

A strong cold front is heading towards the Bayou State and it could bring bring a light snowfall to northern Louisiana. A winter weather advisory is in effect from 9 PM to 9 AM for much of northern and central Louisiana. South Louisiana could see some mix precipitation, sleet and snow flurries north of I-10 tomorrow morning.
