Higgins says these athletes have the right to disrespect the national anthem and he has the right to turn off the TV.

Once again Louisiana ranks in the top five for the rate of women who are murdered by men. The Violence Policy Center says in 2015 it was double here than the national average, and third highest in the country. Executive director of the Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Mariah Wineski, says the report is sad…:

Wineski says one factor is inadequate funding for domestic violence services, and another is easy firearm access for abusers.

Senator Susan Collins announced Monday afternoon that she will oppose the GOP’s latest plan to overhaul the Affordable Care Act. This means that the bill co-authored by Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy likely has no chance of passing.
