A New Orleans-area man is being monitored by the Department of Health and Hospitals for signs of the Ebola virus. The Centers for Disease Control informed DHH that the man had just returned to the state after a visit to an Ebola-impacted country. Health officials says the man has no symptoms and is being monitored out of an abundance of caution.

The former Mayor of Sorrento was arrested Thursday after officials say a search warrant turned up child pornography inside his residence. Attorney General Criminal division director Kurt Wall says the search of 41-year-old Wilson Longanecker Jr.’s home lasted several hours…
