The state Attorney General’s office says a Marrero woman is booked on charges related to child sex trafficking. 38-year-old Candice Caulfield was arrested for trafficking of children for sexual purposes and enticing persons into prostitution. Governor Bobby Jindal is suing the Obama Administration today acussing it of illegally using federal dollars to force states into Common Core. The suit claims the US Department of Education used a $4.3 billion dollar grant program to encourage states to adopt the education standards which is a violates federal law prohibiting national control of education policy.

The Lafayette Police Department says a 56-year-old man died after he was run over by a dump truck that was traveling in reverse. They say Douglas Perroncel of Lafayette walked behind the truck and was hit by the bumper before going down. He was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.

An 18-year-old Natchitoches Central High School student has died as a result of injuries sustained after an altercation with another student during school. Eric Gill has the story…:
