Today is the first meeting of the task force studying the impact of illegal immigration on Louisiana taxpayers. Task force chairperson, Denham Springs Representative Valarie Hodges, says the monetary cost isn’t even the most important aspect. She says people are killed around the country at the hands of illegal immigrants and sanctuary cities, like New Orleans, aren’t enforcing the law and putting citizens at risk…

Beginning tomorrow, sportsmen across the state will be looking to take advantage of Louisiana’s Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday. The tax holiday, which runs through Monday, waives the state and local sales tax on firearms, ammunition, and hunting supplies. Some exemptions do apply.
