The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office says two men were arrested following a drug bust in New Iberia. Authorities say over $3,500 in cash, 5 firearms, and illegal drugs were seized in the operation. Dequincy Lewis and Patrick Sam were arrested and face numerous charges including possession with the intent to distribute schedule II narcotics and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The police investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.

The Louisiana Federation of Teachers and the Louisiana Association of Educators are teaming up to spotlight political candidates who support the best interest of public education.
