Young joins already announced candidates Baton Rouge Mayor President Kip Holden and Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser.
In the Common Core hearing this afternoon, the attorneys for the Jindal administration argued that parents and educators have no authority to file a lawsuit against him for blocking Common Core. The argument was also made that – in case Judge Todd Hernandez rules against Governor Bobby Jindal-that the administration cannot be forced to testify, or give depositions. Hernandez says he will issue his written ruling soon.

Since the BP spill, oyster production along Louisiana’s coast has reached almost record lows. That’s according to Louisiana Oyster Task Force Chairman John Tesvich, who says it’s a challenging time for the industry…;

Prior to the oil spill, Louisiana reefs would produce 3 to 7 million pounds of oyster meat a year. Last year, it was just under a million pounds.
The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s office says a teenage girl is under arrest for allegedly stealing the pizza delivery guy’s car. Spokesman Glenn Springfield says-once they got a report of the stolen vehicle -it was fairly easy to spot with the Pizza Hut sign on top…:
