Tomorrow, the Tigers will leave for College Station and kick-off on Saturday night is at 6 PM.

Tomorrow, 19th Tulane takes on 24th ranked Cincinnati. A spot in the American Athletic Conference Championship game is on the line. The Green Wave are also trying to secure a New Year’s Six bowl bid.

Several Saints players who missed last week’s win over the Rams returned to practice yesterday including cornerback Marshon Lattimore, who has been out since October 9th because of a abdomen injury. Mark Ingram, Marcus Davenport, James Hurst and Cam Jordan also practiced yesterday. New Orleans is at San Francisco on Sunday.

The LSU men’s basketball team suffered its first loss of the season last night as they fell to Kansas State 61-59 in the Cayman Islands Classic championship game. It appeared the Tigers tied the game as the buzzer went off on a Trae Hannibal lay-up. But after reviewing the play, it was determined the clock started late after LSU inbounded the ball, so the basket was waved off. The Tigers only scored 18 points in the second half.

In other action yesterday, Louisiana Tech topped Alabama A-and-M 80-75 as Terran Williams had 20 points and seventh ranked Baylor dribbled past McNeese 89-60.

Zion Williamson scored a season-high 32 points as the Pelicans defeated San Antonio 129 to 110. Coach Willie Green says Williamson had a monster performance…

The nonprofit Troops Direct is asking for help to provide critical supplies to American service members. Aaron Negherbon (NEAR-BON) says Troops Direct is unique.

Negherbon says they do not supply care packages. They supply items such as medical kits, GPS units, sleeping bags, helmets, and even K-9 care kits.

He says due to the specialized nature of what they supply, they are asking for cash donations only.  He says their overhead is only about 9 to 10 percent of their overall budget.  There are four people on staff and one is a Marine Corps veteran.

With holiday shopping in full swing, security professionals have a few tips on how to have a safe one when making online purchases. LSU Cybersecurity Expert Abe (BAH-gil-lee) Baggili to use a credit card for those purchases versus a debit card so you can get your money back if it proves to be a scam.

And if the price sounds too good to be true it probably is. Knock-off websites tend to have more of a security risk, so avoid them. Baggili says to also read online reviews about the product and or vendor before you enter payment information. And also, be mindful of the wi-fi connection you’re using.

Baggili says to also never reveal too much personal information when making purchases, or in general to avoid identity theft.  And be sure to check your credit card statements that you use to make online purchases…

Another safety tip Baggili says when shopping at a store in person, is to use your phone to make purchases so your card number is not revealed.

Two Shreveport area women are charged with stealing money from customers of USAA Bank; mostly elderly person and military veterans. Shreveport PD spokesperson Angie Wilhite says ZarRajah Watkins was arrested last week. She allegedly used her job at an “S Port” call center to access the accounts…:

Another suspect, Destane Glass, was an accomplice. She was arrested Tuesday. The pair stole about a million bucks and used it to live lavishly.

Baton Rouge police are investigating the shooting death of a man who was allegedly shot by his own son over blowing his nose. BRPD’s Sgt L’Jean McKneely says it happened around 9:30 Tuesday morning…:

The son called an ambulance and tried to render aid, but it was too late.

 

Police in New Orleans say an 8-year-old child was shot and killed by gunfire from outside the house. Officers say bullets penetrated the exterior wall of the home and one hit the child in the stomach. The child died at a local hospital. The shooting happened just before 11 am Wednesday. They ask anyone with information on the crime to please come forward.

Strong showers and thunderstorms could be a part of your Thanksgiving holiday. State Climatologist Barry Keim says two systems are making their way toward Louisiana, one from Oklahoma and another from the Gulf…:

A Baton Rouge man is under arrest for allegedly killing his own father because the man blew his nose. 21-year-old Adam Carter told officers at the scene he gets angered by nose-blowing and when his father did it they argued, then he shot him. BRPD’s Sgt. L’Jean McKneely says this will be rough on the family, right at the holidays…:

Prepare yourself for a rainy Thanksgiving Day. Two weather systems – one from the Gulf and one from Oklahoma – will clash to bring up to 4 inches of rain in many parishes. State Climatologist Barry Keim says stay weather-alert, because flash flooding is possible…:

Lafayette based restaurant delivery service ASAP, formerly known as WAITR, says they will lay off 100 employees shortly after January 1st. ASAP cites a “prolonged decrease in revenue” as the reason for the reduction in force. The company says they lost about $73-million in the 3rd Quarter. They blame competition in deliveries, inflation and high fuel prices.

Don’t forget Saturday is Small Business Saturday; a day to do some Christmas shopping at those local “mom “ pop” stores.

Two women are facing identity theft charges in Shreveport for allegedly raiding the bank accounts of mostly senior citizens and veterans. Shreveport Police Sargent Angie Wilhite says ZarRajah Watkins used her job at a call center to get access to the bank accounts and sell the information to Destane Glass and others.
