Former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s project E Pluribus Unum surveyed 800 people across the South for their views on race, and respondents were asked if questions about race relations were getting too much, or too little attention. 50 percent of whites said it’s receiving too much, while 66 percent of blacks say too little.

State Police arrest a Pineville man on 250 counts of online impersonation following an investigation that started in July. LSP’s Special Victims Unit obtained a warrant and arrested Kevin Miles after the investigation revealed he posed as a woman using a fake social media account for over ten years to convince other females to send illicit sexual images to his fake account.

A CDC report reveals methamphetamine is the drug most associated with overdoses in Louisiana, as well as bordering states Texas and Arkansas among other states. Nationally, the number of people dying from psychostimulants such as meth and cocaine rose above 10,000 in 2017, a 37% increase over 2016.

The national average of health insurance rates is decreasing by 4% in 2020, but Louisiana’s rates are not following that trend. Kevin Barnhart has the story.

It’s a wet day across Louisiana and the rainfall could produce flash flooding in some areas. A flash flood watch is in effect until tomorrow afternoon for much of south Louisiana and Mississippi River Delta parishes. State Climatologist Barry Keim says there is a cold front moving in from the north, interacting with a front draped along the coastline.

The resolution calls on the House to follow precedent to have a vote to initiate a formal impeachment inquiry and provide the President with due process and allow Republicans to participate fully in impeachment proceedings.

Louisiana residents who have insurance through the Affordable Care Act will see their premiums go up an average of 10-percent in 2020. But Frank Opelka with the Louisiana Department of Insurance says most individual health care market policyholders will not have to pay for the rate increases, because their premiums are subsidized by the feds.

Deputy commissioner with the Louisiana Department of Insurance Frank Opelka says part of the reason is that Louisiana saw a rate decrease between 2018 and 2019.

Senator John Kennedy co-signs a resolution condemning the House’s impeachment inquiry amid growing rancor in D.C. over the President’s Ukraine scandal.

Kennedy says the proceedings have been all behind closed doors, with the public only having access to leaked information, mostly from Democrats. He singled out House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff.
