Louisiana and Mississippi authorities continue to investigate multiple reports of a white male who is allegedly impersonating a police officer and pulling over women. Similar incidents have occurred over the last week in St. Charles, East Feliciana Parish and just over the Louisiana-Mississippi stat line. Law enforcement say the fake cop is driving a black Dodge Charger with dark-tinted windows.

New Orleans hosts Tampa Bay on Sunday. A ceremony is set for that day to induct former defensive end Will Smith into the team’s Ring of Honor at the Mercedes Benz Superdome. Smith played for the Black and Gold from 2004 to 2013 and racked up 67.5 sacks. He was fatally shot in April of 2016 during an argument with another motorist in Uptown New Orleans.

Tonight’s NFL game is a good one as the Rams visit the Seahawks.

LSU running back Lanard Fournette has left the team. The little brother of former LSU star Leonard Fournette, was set to see his role on the team decrease as Coach Ed Orgeron looked to get more playing time for freshmen John Emery and Tyrion Davis-Price.

Orgeron says pass rusher K’Lavon Chaisson will likely play Saturday against Utah State after missing a couple of games with an ankle injury. But other starters on defense, Rashard Lawrence, Glen Logan and Michael Divinity are not expected to play against the Aggies.

Edwards aligned Gumbo PAC has dropped millions on the race, and Political Analyst Bernie Pinsonat says they’ve shifted their fire to the new top polling Republican, who they’ve labeled “Phony Eddie Rispone.”

Gumbo PAC has a new ad out targeting the Baton Rouge businessman’s business dealings.

The RGA has poured money into a strictly anti-Edwards campaign, with its latest salvo seeking to tie the Governor to Georgia Democrat Stacy Abrams. Pinsonat says tying Edwards to the party’s liberal wing is effective.

Pinsonat says the two have combined to pour over five million dollars into the race.

Colton’s family are Auburn fans and he was introduced to the LSU Tigers at the 2017 SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover, Alabama. The team made such an impression on him and that’s when his allegiance changed. Moore says from then on his focus became LSU.

Colton lives in Odenville where Auburn and Alabama fans are extremely passionate. Ironically Colton is not alone with his purple and gold pride, his third-grade teacher Casey Burnham is a 2005 graduate along with his pediatrician. Moore also believes Colton is rubbing off on his classmates.

Capital Region Planning Commission Executive Director Jamie Setze says thousands throughout five parishes should check their mailbox for an invite to take part.

Setze says responses can be submitted online, by telephone or through an app developed for the project.

Participants can contribute to the study for one day or for a whole week.  Setze says at the end of the day, the app will ask for more feedback.

Louisiana has a $14 billion backlog of transportation needs and the survey will help to prioritize improvements.

Smith was a fan favorite and team captain on the Super Bowl team and the former first-round pick had 67.5 sacks during his Saints career. His life ended three years ago when he was shot by a motorist during a traffic dispute in the Lower Garden District.

 

 

 

 

Republicans appear to be far more motivated to pack the polls this year than they were in 2015, according to an analysis of the first three days of early voting.

Early voting totals are nearly double what they were four years ago, and JMC Analytics publisher John Couvillon says it’s far more Republican as well.

Coach Ed Orgeron has said he would like to give more carries to freshmen running backs John Emery and Tyrion Davis-Price.

Quarterback Joe Burrow is having a lot of success because of break out seasons from Ja’Marr Chase and Terrace Marshall. Marshall is now out with an injury, but Chase and his 20-yard average per reception will be looking to catch more passes against Utah State on Saturday. Burrow says Chase has been impressive…

One incident occurred over the weekend near the Bonnet Carre Spillway. St. Charles Parish Sheriff Captain Donnie Smith says the woman was pulled over by a black charger flashing blue and red lights.

Smith says after pulling the woman over the man allegedly told her he smelled marijuana in the car and demanded she exit the vehicle, then took her to the rear of the car.

The woman says after she began expressing concern that the man was not an officer, he got in his vehicle and fled.

The man was described as a medium build, with a generic looking badge and a Chinese symbol tattooed on the back of his neck. Smith says the suspect allegedly put a lot of effort into looking legitimate.

Incidents have been reported in St. Charles Parish, East Feliciana Parish, and Wilkinson County Mississippi.

East Feliciana Chief Criminal Deputy Greg Phares says if you get pulled over, but are concerned it’s not a real officer, it’s legal to calmly make your way to a public space before interacting.

LSU running back Lanard Fournette is no longer on the team, according to LSU’s Athletics department. A university spokesperson confirmed the reports that Fournette withdrew from the school this morning. Sources reportedly told ESPN that Fournette “just wants to move on with his life.” Fournette’s brother, Leonard, was LSU’s star running back before being drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017.
