A Ball woman is dead following a UTV crash on Sunday afternoon.  The vehicle, a Honda Pioneer 700, was being driven by a 16-year-old along Cunningham road when the driver lost control and led to the overturning of the vehicle, ejecting both passengers.  The juvenile received minor injuries while the passenger, 40-year-old Amanda Preble, was pronounced dead.  The crash remains under investigation.

Shreveport Police have called a 2 PM press conference to discuss the fatal shooting of a one-month old child early Saturday morning in the Sunset Acres neighborhood. The Caddo Parish Coroner’s office says Queen Dean was struck in the head. Shreveport Police say the infant was hit by a bullet from a drive-by-shooting on the home.

Tomorrow begins the three-day sign-up period for qualifying for the October 12th election. The governor’s race gets top billing, while Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon is facing a well-funded challenger by the name of Tim Temple.
