The Department of Children and Family Services says they’ve collected more than $2 million dollars in casino winnings from parents who owe back child support. Deputy Assistant Secretary Lisa Andry says this is a huge milestone for the Casino Intercept Program which launched in September 2011…:

Andry says a total of 2 million fifty two thousand dollars was taken from 1,526 non-custodial parents who owed back child support.

The US Marshal in East Baton Rouge Parish arrested the founder of Red Jacket Firearms — again. This time William Hayden, of the reality show Sons of Guns, is facing a charge of aggravated rape of a 12-year-old. Hayden was arrested for molestation of a juvenile earlier this month and TMZ reported the suspect said the accusations were coming from a bitter ex-girlfriend. The matter is under investigation.

The Louisiana Attorney General’s office says a Marrero woman faces more than 200 years in prison on charges related to child sex trafficking. 38-year-old Candice Caulfield was arrested on several charges including trafficking of children for sexual purposes and enticing persons into prostitution. Spokesman David Ferris says the AG’s office is hub for the Internet Crimes Against Children’s Taskforce…

The Saints roster now stands at 75 after cutting eight players yesterday. The most high profile cut was linebacker Victor Butler. It’s the first girl for Drew and Brittany Brees and they are holding off on announcing the girl’s name until its officially on the birth certificate. Brees also says this will likely be the last addition to their immediate family….

Saints Coach Sean Payton said today that outside linebacker Victor Butler has been released. Butler was signed by the Black and Gold during the 2013 offseason and he was expected to be a starter. But Butler never played a down for New Orleans, because of injuries. The Saints wrap up the preseason on Thursday night at home against Baltimore.

LSU Football Coach Les Miles is not letting the cat out of the bag as far as who will be the starting quarterback. Miles says Brandon Harris and Anthony Jennings will both play this Saturday against Wisconsin, but the team will not know who the starter is until Thursday. The head coach also says he doesn’t anticipate the battle for starting Q-B to be a distraction for his team….

A Marrerro woman has been arrested on charges related to child trafficking for sexual purposes, and other serious sex crimes. Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell says the woman is 38 year-old Candice Caulfield, and with all of the charges against her, she faces a combined total of more than 200 years in prison.

The Natchitoches High School student who was severely injured after being sucker punched in a school fight has died. KSLA TV is reporting that 18 year-old Johnquaries Smith died this afternoon, and a 16 year-old student at Natchitoches Central High School is facing manslaughter charges.

This morning, New Orleans Saints Quartberback Drew Brees tweeted the announcement of the newest member of their household, as he and his wife Brittany welcomed a brand new baby girl. They have not announced the name as of yet, but they did say mom and daughter are doing great. He did a tweet a picture of the little girl and the proud papa. By the way, Drew Brees was at practice today.

The child support casino intercept program began in September 2011 and has collected unpaid child support payments from over fifteen hundred non-custodial parents at 19 state licensed casinos.

A robbery suspect in Slidell was really left holding the bag. Slidell Police say 18-year-old Terry Jones approached a woman holding her infant. Jones allegedly stuck a pistol in the woman’s chest and demanded her purse. The purse turned out to be a diaper bag. Jones then took off running, but was caught by a police officer. Jones was booked on one count of armed robbery.
