The gubernatorial candidates had a lively debate last night full of cross talk and personal attacks, but light on details. The candidates went after each other’s personal background, with Governor Edwards honing in on Eddie Rispone’s business, Baton Rouge-based ISC Constructors. Governor Edwards questioned who exactly the company was hiring.

A My People Vote poll gives Edwards just over 50 percent support, while Rispone is right behind him at 47 percent. There’s no real gender gap to speak of between the two candidates and political analyst Ed Chervenak says there’s next to no partisan drift either…

The poll had a 3.6 margin of error, which puts both candidates in a near-dead tie.

The Commander in Chief holds an approval rating in the low 50s statewide according to recent polls. The rally starts at 7PM.

A cold front has passed through and Canadian air has dramatically dropped temperatures compared to yesterday.  State Climatologist Barry Keim says those cold temps may inspire trick-or-treaters to have an extra layer under the costume tonight.
