After LSU unveiled its multi-million dollar athletic complex for the football team this week, some alumni want to put the focus back on academics. LSU Alum Ginger Gibson isn’t faulting the University for building the new state of the art facility, but she also believes students deserve and need a new library so she’s taking matters into her own hands.

LSU President F. King Alexander says a new library is in the master plan, but funding remains an issue.

Two former LSU students received 30 days in the parish jail for their role in the alcohol-related hazing death of fraternity pledge Maxwell Gruver. Twenty-two-year-old Sean Gott of Lafayette and 20-year-old Ryan Isto of Montana were immediately taken into custody. They pleaded no contest to hazing last year.

A Lafayette judge is receiving criticism from the A-C-L-U for ordering a bailiff to tape a defendant’s mouth shut because he reportedly kept interrupting a hearing. Legal analyst Tim Meche says Judge Marilyn Castle could have used a different approach…
