After 48 years in the state legislature, term-limited Senate President John Alario has decided he’s had enough. Alario announced yesterday he will not run for a seat in the House. Alario is the only Louisiana lawmaker to have the distinction of serving twice as Senate President and twice as House Speaker. Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says Alario was well respected….

Gov. Edwards issues a statewide emergency declaration following a cybersecurity attack on several school systems in North Louisiana. Senior Coordinating Official for the Louisiana Cybersecurity Commission Kenneth Donnelly says the state was first made aware of a malware attack on Tuesday…

An LSU Professor had the roles reversed when he found himself depending on students as he went into cardiac arrest. Math professor Dr. James Oxley was swimming laps on campus July 5th when he slipped under the water and eight students jumped into action to save his life. Oxley says his cardiologist told him it was the students’ training that made the difference.
