State Police is investigating two separate officer-involved shootings that occurred yesterday. The first one happened in Vidalia at an apartment complex. The suspect 21-year-old Kaleb Melton died at the scene, while a Concordia Parish Sheriff’s deputy suffered moderate to severe injuries. The second shooting involved a West Baton Rouge sheriff’s deputy, who fatally shot a suspect at a Port Allen motel.

An LSU professor is alive today thanks to a group of students who saved his life after he went into cardiac arrest while swimming on campus….

For the first time, the state has issued an emergency declaration because of a cybersecurity attack that’s impacting school systems in Sabine, Morehouse and Ouachita Parishes.
