Former escaped inmate Tre’veon Jackson was sentenced to 200 years at hard labor in Caddo District Court yesterday for armed robbery. The 24 year old had Jackson escaped from Caddo Deputies September 14th outside a local hospital. He was on the run for a week before US Marshalls captured him in Texas.

A new study shows the number of deep-water creatures in the Gulf dropped about 60-percent in the years following the 2010 B-P Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, and populations have still not recovered. Nova Southeastern University biological oceanographer Tracey Sutton says the animals in the “twilight zone” above the seafloor are a critical part of the ecosystem.
