The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s office says they had to revive Jasmine Anderson after a suicide attempt. The 24-year-old Alexandria mom is accused of killing her five-year daughter. Her attorney, Chad Guillot (Gee-oh) asked for a sanity commission to evaluate Anderson to see if she can assist in her defense…

Guillot says if medical professionals find that she’s not competent, she’ll be sent to the state’s mental hospital in East Feliciana Parish for treatment.

Fans sitting in the general seating areas of Tiger Stadium can purchase beer and wine this football season. LSU Senior Associate Athletics Director Robert Munson says most concession stands will sell a variety of domestic and imported beer as well as red and white wines…

Starting September 1st, the state health department will begin enforcing the state’s new labeling law that requires restaurants to say on their menus the country of origin of their crawfish and shrimp. L-D-H Environmental Services Chief of Field Operations Carolyn Bombet says if an establishment does not use menus, an 18-by-18 inch sign must be on display…

Bombet says if a patron feels a restaurant is not falling in line with the law, they can make a report to LDH.
