Rapides Parish Sheriff deputies had to revive Jasmine Anderson after a suicide attempt this morning. The 24-year-old Alexandria mom is accused of killing her five-year daughter. Her attorney, Chad Guillot says if doctors find Anderson is not competent, she’ll be sent to the state’s mental hospital in East Feliciana Parish in an effort to restore her competency…

Guillot says a hearing is set for next Tuesday for a judge to determine if a sanity commission is needed.
A political action committee backing Representative Ralph Abraham unleashes ads attacking fellow gubernatorial Republican candidate Eddie Rispone.  In the ad released on social media, it references that Rispone, a wealthy businessman, is trying to buy the election.  ULM Poli Sci Professor Joshua Stockley says he is not surprised that the attacks have begun.

The US Department of Justice announces it is ending a moratorium on executions and one of the five federal death row inmates that were named by the Attorney General to be put to death is Alfred Bourgeois, a LaPlace man convicted in 2002 of abusing and murdering his two year old daughter. The incident happened in Corpus Christi, Texas. The executions are scheduled to take place at a Federal Prison in Indiana between December 9 and January 15th.
