Shell confirms two people were killed on one of their oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico on Sunday. The energy company says the incident happened 214 miles south of New Orleans and occurred during a routine and mandatory test of the platform’s lifeboat launch. The identities of the victims have not been released.

A Eunice man’s plan to dodge jail for unpaid child support goes south when he’s caught staging his own robbery and shooting. During the investigation, Michael Rung claimed a person took his wallet before he was shot.
