Frustrations continue to mount at the State Capitol as that was New Roads Representative Major Thibaut. Several Democrats are upset with Republican leaders for delaying the filing of a proposed budget for next fiscal year. House Appropriations Chairman Cameron Henry prefers that the legislature override Governor John Bel Edwards’ veto of the budget bill passed in the regular session and revenue raised in the special session can be used to fill in the budget holes…

The veto effort failed and Henry has now introduced a budget bill nine days into the special session. There’s a concern a budget will not be approved before the special session concludes June 4th.

In a video message, Destrehan-based televangelist Jesse Duplantis is asking for 54-million dollars in private donations so that he can purchase a new jet, to replace his current 12-year-old aircraft. Duplantis says he’s looking at the Dassault Falcon Seven-X, because it has the fuel capacity so that he can preach the Gospel all over the world…

Duplantis says he was also told by God to believe specifically for a brand new Falcon Seven-X.

Gas prices have only increased by a few cents over the last week and AAA’s current projection calls for gasoline prices in Louisiana to hover around $2.80 a gallon for the summer. But fuel analyst Don Redman says we might not see a summer average that high, which is good for travelers…
