A longtime employee of the Secretary of State’s office says she received unwanted sexually charged emails, gifts and advances by the man leading the agency Tom Schedler, for at least a decade. Dawn Ross gave to the Louisiana Radio Network an internview that detailed harassment accusations including claims that she was banished from the office. Ross also said that the Secretary of State even went as far as moving into a townhome located in the same complex where she lived.

Schedler has previously said he will not resign, but this will be his last term as Louisiana’s Secretary of State.

The Advocate newspaper reports that a man will shot to death early Saturday morning in Baton Rouge. 23 year old Ricard Alberto Agular was gunned down at between 3:30 and 4 am on Jade avenue. It was reported that the victim was outside an apartment when two men wearing hooded sweatshirts approached him and demanded money.

The Senate passed a bill that would allow teachers to pray in public schools with students. Matt Doyle has more.

The Louisiana Red Cross is joining a national push to install smoke detectors in homes around the country. “Sound the Alarm” has Red Cross volunteers visiting homes to install alarms. Greater New York Regional CEO Josh Lockwood says many homes still lack a working smoke detector.
