The Legislative Auditor has launched an investigation into spending for the BRAVE program after US Senator John Kennedy raised concerns the federal dollars were not going towards reducing crime and supporting police in Baton Rouge. Kennedy says it’s repulsive how East Baton Rouge Mayor President Sharon Weston Broome is allegedly spending the funds.

The mayor’s office says Broome welcomes the review and looks forward to the results.

Former Governor Edwin Edwards turns 90 today. The four term governor says he has no plans to slow down anytime soon.

Edwards says he fully expects to live to at least 100-years-old.

In just two years, candidates will be qualifying for the governor’s race. So who will challenge Governor John Bel Edwards? Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says Republicans are waiting to see what US Senator John Kennedy will do.

If Kennedy doesn’t run, Pinsonat says Edwards’ chances of reelection look better.

Home schooling and online charter schools are becoming increasingly popular in Louisiana. The state department of education says 9-thousand more students studied at home in 2016 than in 2010. University View Academy Superintendent Lonnie Luce says online schooling is just as good as the classroom, and they even have social events like fieldtrips and clubs.
