President Donald Trump tweeted this morning a new sugar trade agreement with Mexico has been reached. Jim Simon, general manager of the American Sugarcane League in Thibodaux, says it should stop Mexico from flooding the U-S with subsidized sugar. The state Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control suspends the license of Reggie’s, a popular bar in Tigerland near the LSU campus. On Monday night, Baton Rouge police arrested 37 individuals, many of them teenagers, during an underage sting operation. Plastipak Packaging announces its adding production lines at its manufacturing facility in Pineville. Plastipak makes plastic containers for food, beverage and consumer products. The state’s economic development office says Plastipak’s 15 million dollar investment will result in over 30 new direct and indirect jobs.
