The LSU baseball team needs to win tonight and tomorrow if they want to take it all following a 4-3 loss to Florida last night in game one of the College World Series Finals.

19-year-old Brittany Monk pleads guilty to manslaughter in the death of 47-year-old Robert Noce of Zachary. Monk and her fiance allegedly stabbed Noce and strangled him with a belt in 2015 because she says he molested her as a child.

Experts say more can be done to solve the state’s opiod epidemic. East Baton Rouge Parish coroner Dr. Beau Clark says the idea with the recently enacted laws is to stop creating new addicts by limiting prescriptions. But he says many people are already hooked and need help.:

In 2016, 34 people died of heroin overdoses in East Baton Rouge Parish, and there’s already been 20 overdose deaths in 2017.

A father and son have been cited for killing a Louisiana black bear in Iberia Parish. Adam Einck with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says agents found the bear shot to death in November of 2015. He says the bullet was pulled from the bear during a necropsy…:
