Governor John Bel Edwards will be in Washington DC tomorrow to meet with congressional leaders to discuss more federal funding for Louisiana’s flood recovery. Edwards estimates it will take more than $3.7 billion for the state to recover from the two historic floods in March and August. So far, Louisiana has received $438 million in federal assistance.

A Bossier parish foster parent has been arrested on charges of rape. Lt. Bill Davis with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office says 51-year-old Terral Parfait lives alone and has been a foster parent for quite some time. He says so far, Parfait has been charged with three counts of 1st degree rape.

Parfait is also charged with possession and production of child porn.

A Baton Rouge college student has been arrested, accused of murdering and dismembering his parents in Tennessee. Knox County Sheriff Major Michael Maclean says they believe 29-year-old Joel Michael Guy Junior turned violent Thanksgiving weekend during an argument about money.
