Today marks the second day of early voting and we’re already seeing a light turnout. John Couvillion with JMC Analytics says based on the first full day of early voting, which was Saturday, overall turnout is way down compared to the November 8th presidential election and there was also a decrease in the number of black voters, which is not a good sign for Democratic US Senate candidate Foster Campbell and Democratic Congressional candidate Marshall Jones…

There’s a threat of severe weather today and tomorrow. State Climatologist Barry Keim says lightning, damaging winds and heavy rainfall are possible with this storm system that might not leave the state until Wednesday…

One person was killed and nine injured during a shooting over the weekend in the historic French Quarter. Authorities are still searching for the gunmen. This is the fourth major shooting on Bourbon Street in four years. New Orleans Police Superintendent Michael Harrison says he’s aware metal detectors are being used on Beale Street in Memphis and says at this time, nothing is being ruled out for the Big Easy…

A suspect in a fatal shooting was killed during a shootout with sheriff deputies in East Baton Rouge Parish. State Police Colonel Mike Edmonson says 48-year-old Terrell Walker was shot after he refused to show his hands…

Authorities believe Walker fatally shot his 30-year-old girlfriend multiple times in a vehicle and then pushed her out of the car, before he was gunned down.
