A report by ProPublica finds many state leaders along with residents are very frustrated with the Red Cross’ flood response efforts in Louisiana. The report stems from email’s from state officials showing concern with the organization, as well as many attempts to resolve the issues. Officials with the the governor’s office are reportedly meeting today with the Red Cross.

Louisiana residents are now able to purchase REAL ID licenses today from the Office of Motor Vehicles. In October of 2020, you’ll need a REAL ID to fly domestically without a passport. OMV Commissioner Karen St. Germain says the ID will also be needed to enter federal buildings starting in four years.

She says the REAL ID license will cost 13 dollars for a 4 year duplicate and 17 dollars for a six year duplicate.

The Y-W-C-A of Greater Baton Rouge says pop singer Taylor Swift donated a substantial amount to support flood relief efforts as part of the celebrity’s one million dollar pledge to Louisiana. CEO Diana Payton says the money is going to the Early Head Start center because the one at Glen Oaks High School was forced to closed due to water damage.
