An investigation is underway in Webster Parish after an explosion this morning that created a bright light in the sky. Sheriff Gary Sexton tells KTBS-TV in Shreveport there was an explosion in a storage bunker at Camp Minden. Sexton says there no people around the site at the time of the blast and nobody was injured.

It looks like Louisiana will receive over 400-million dollars in federal flood aid as a result of legislation approved by Congress. Republican Senator David Vitter says some of his Senate colleagues had a hard time understanding the level of destruction that took place in Lousiiana…

The governor’s office has said 130-thousand homes were damaged or destroyed by the flooding.

A Bossier Parish School Board committee has said “No” to MTV who wanted to film three students at two of their schools who have chosen to practice abstinence. Board member Dennis Bamburg says the show would have supposedly centered on their decision to be celibate, but they didn’t believe that’s how it would air on MTV…
