US Congressman Garret Graves says he’s frustrated that the proposal to get $500 million dollars in federal aid to flood victims is wrapped up in politics.

A Lake Charles man is wanted by police for breaking into a dorm and exposing his genitals to three women in downtown Baton Rouge. Authorities say 47-year-old Scotty Thompson knocked on the door of a home and had a brief conversation with a woman before showing his genitals to her then running off. Thompson then went into another apartment and began talking to a second women and flashed her and continued to expose himself to a third woman sleeping in the same home.

The Advisory Council on Student Behavior finds over one-thousand kindergartners were suspended during the last school year. New Orleans attorney and chairwoman of the council, Jennifer Coco, says the primary reasons students are getting suspended is being disrespectful or disobedient. But she doesn’t think that kicking a child out of school will teach them to be more respectful.

The council found that nearly 8-thousand students between Pre-K and third grade received out of school suspensions during the 2015-16 school year.

Livingston Parish Schools have received over 100-thousand dollars in donations to assist students and teachers during the flood recovery. Superintendent Rick Wentzel says they got a massive donation from a big named celebrity.
