The law that was overturned in Texas that put tighter restrictions on abortion clinics is getting reaction in Louisiana from people on both sides of the issue because of the implications it could have on a similar law here. President of the Louisiana Family Forum, Gene Mills…:

A two-vehicle crash in Iberville Parish that took the life of a child and injured several others Monday afternoon leaves a driver facing many charges, according to State Police. They say 9-year-old Asha Cooper was killed in the wreck near Plaquemine. 27-year-old Tommie Killough of Livonia had seven kids in the SUV when he tried to pass in a no passing zone and hit another vehicle. There were nine people in his vehicle. Killough’s charges include negligent homicide.

Many people are likely to be out on the water for the 4th of July holiday but should be cautious because the flesh-eating bacteria, vibrio, has been found along the Gulf of Mexico coast stretching from Texas to the Florida panhandle. Biology Professor at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Dr. Gregory Buck says vibrio can enter the body through eating raw shellfish or an open wound..:

the bacteria typically lives in salt water and thrives when the water is warm, so it’s only going to continue to grow.

There have been conflicting reports over whether the Saints will hold mini-camp at the Greenbrier in West Virginia as planned, given the recent flooding the state has seen. Saints sideline reporter Kristian Garic says New Orleans currently has every intention of beginning camp on July 27th at the resort but they’re still in a bit of a holding pattern…:
