A jury in Ouachita Parish handed down a guilty verdict to the man accused of shooting at two Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agents in May. 32-year-old Sgt. Scott Bullitt was shot while on patrol by 29-year-old Luke Hust. LDWF spokesman Adam Einck says the jury handed down the guilty verdict to Hust in just 4 hours…:

He says Sgt. Bullitt continues to rehab from his injuries and hasn’t returned to the force.

KATC is reporting that a 14-year-old student at Holy Family School in Lafayette died after collapsing during a basketball game. They say Holy Family Principal Rogers Griffin issued a release indicating Teddy Ray Daigle fell during the game, and resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. Daigle died at Lafayette General Hospital.

This morning a judge dismissed the lawsuit seeking to dismiss the suspension of Amite High School from the playoffs as ruled by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association, saying the court does not have the power to second guess a private organization’s decision. This means Amite’s season is over.

This weekend kicks off holiday office parties.
