The convicted killer who was accidentally released from prison in East Feliciana Parish has been captured in Atlanta. The Baton Rouge Police Department has arrested a 19-year-old man after he allegedly accidentally shot his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach. Cpl. Ljean McKneely says Jason Williams claims he was removing a handgun from a dresser when it accidentally discharged, striking his 19-year-old girlfriend who is four months pregnant…

In a recent poll ranking Louisiana’s six most recent governors, former four-term Governor Edwin Edwards came in at number one among respondents. 31-percent thought “The Cajun Prince” was the best governor, followed by former two-term Governor Mike Foster with 21-percent. Louisiana State Police say a fatality crash in Concordia Parish claimed the lives of three unrestrained people, including two teenagers. Master Trooper Brooks David says 28-year-old Mark Gordon of Jonesville’s log truck crossed the center line just as a pickup, driven by 49-year-old Richard Stewart Jr. of Vidalia, was approaching.
