A task force discussing the issue of illegal immigration in Louisiana met in Baton Rouge for the first time today. Task force chairperson Denham Springs Representative Valarie Hodges says they want to try to figure out how much illegal immigrants are costing the state as most departments don’t track that information. She says you can’t fix what you can’t identify:

Louisiana is among the top 10 states that receive unaccompanied alien children.

The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a bizarre case in which a man was shot after driving erratically down the road and stopping into oncoming traffic. They say a 33-year-old man was crashing into multiple things while traveling down North Sherwood Forest before getting out of his vehicle in the opposite lane. A 23-year-old man stopped to check on the driver who proceeded to start a fight before being shot during the altercation by the passerby. The driver is being treated for injuries. The case is under investigation.

Les Miles is hoping his youngest son will one day play for him at LSU. Tigers recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson has offered Ben Miles a scholarship to play at LSU. Miles is a fullback for the Catholic High Bears in Baton Rouge. And Coach says the scholarship offer is deserving:

There were no big winners in the Powerball jackpot last night according to the Louisiana Lottery. The prize now goes up to an estimated $133 million for Saturday. Lotto is up to $2.45 million.
