For the second time within a week, a Louisiana policeman has been shot dead in the line of duty. St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says Harrison Lee Wiley Junior of Arnaudville is accused of killing Sunset Police officer Henry Nelson during a domestic disturbance. Guirdoz says they believe Wiley was on some sort of illegal narcotic, but they are not sure what….

Wiley is also accused of stabbing three women in the incident, killing one.

The University of Louisiana Lafayette New Iberia Research Center is part of a global effort testing an Ebola vaccine for wild apes. Apes Inc. President Dr. Peter Walsh says this testing could help pave the way for an oral vaccination for humans….

The CDC says the 2014 Ebola outbreak in West Africa claimed about 11-thousand lives.

Governor Bobby Jindal is urging President Barack Obama not to politicize his visit to New Orleans today by discussing climate change. In a letter to the President, Jindal asks Obama to “respect this important time of remembrance by not inserting the divisive political agenda of liberal environmental activism.” The President’s visit is part of commemorations of the 10 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
