Planned Parenthood has filed a federal lawsuit against the state over Governor Bobby Jindal’s plans to cut their Medicaid funding. The organization says the loss of that money would limit health services for the poor. Jindal announced his plans after secretly taped videos surfaced apparently showing Planned Parenthood workers discussing the sale of aborted fetus body parts.

It appears that more and more political candidates in Louisiana are turning to self-financing their campaigns. LaPolitics-dot-com Publisher Jeremy Alford says seven statewide candidates reached into their own pockets and loaned money to their campaigns in the last fundraising quarter. He says Super PACs are one reason campaigns are finding money hard to come by…

Alford says it is surprising to have that many candidates turn to self-financing at essentially the same time.
